Plastic Melt Thermocouples - Flush Mount designs

This device utilizes the patented "Eroding" thermocouple junction design. This very special design proves low Millisecond response times to temperature changes. Also, the sensing tip is thermally isolated from the thermocouple housing, therefore the actual (true) temperature of the plastic is measured.

The Model C8-ME EXTRUD-0-COUPLE is a one-piece stainless steel unit designed for use in small extruder nozzles. The sensing tip contains an exposed two-dimensional thermocouple which is electrically and thermally isolated from the thermowell. It is installed flush with the inside surface of the nozzle throat, thus offering no obstruction to plastic flow. A circular microhead connector is firmly attached to the Thermocouple.The NANMAC Model C8-ME is available in ISA-T, E, J and K calibrations.

The Model C8-SE EXTRUD-0-COUPLE is designed to fit into standard holes existing in most nozzles for Thermocouple or pressure gage applications. This Thermocouple has a two piece stainless steel thermowell which allows for better sealing at the conical surface by automatically self aligning even in slightly offset machined holes. The NANMAC Model C8-SE comes with a circular microhead connector and is available in ISA-T, E. J and K calibrations.

The Model C8-LE EXTRUD-0-COUPLE is designed for use on thick-walled extruder nozzles requiring long Thermocouples to fit into deep holes. Also it is designed to fit into holes in most nozzles which are modified to receive Thermocouples or pressure gages. The NANMAC Model C8-LE has a three-piece stainless steel thermowell with a circular microhead connector attached. The length of the spacer must be specified to accommodate your requirements. The Model C8-LE is available in ISA-T, E, J and K calibrations. When ordering, specify Model No., calibration and dimension "L" to the nearest 1/8", Maximum length of dimension "L" Is 4 inches; longer lengths on special request only.

NOTES;
All our Extrud-O-Couples are designed to be installed flush with the inside of the extruder nozzle. In instances where it is suspected that plastic is adhering to the inside surface, it Is suggested that the hole In the extruder wall be machined such that the sensing tip of the Thermocouple protrudes 0.050" Into the stream, or ask us to lengthen the sensing tip by 0.060" when ordering.
