The Trident Thermocouple probe has an exposed ribbon style sensing - element. The ribbon element is 0.002" thick, by .060" wide and has spring-like stainless steel side guards to protect the element from accidental damage. This sensor has NO measureable conduction error and is ideal for all types of surface contact measurements. Examples Include cloth, textiles. thin plastics, rotating drums and hot plates or any surface whose temperature is desired. This sensor can even measure the temperature difference between black and white on a sheet of paper when heated by a 60 watt light bulb from a distance of 2 feet!

Response time of the Trident probe is in the low milliseconds, and usually limited only by the meter taking the temperature readings. Standard termination styles is a four inch ABS plastic handle, PVC Insulated coil cord and mini thermocouple connector.

The Spring style surface probe contains an exposed junction with each leg in the form of a small spring. The junction is made between the two springs. When pressed against a surface, both springs are compressed into the ceramic body while maintaining good thermal contact with the surface. Response time is about 5 seconds. Standard termination styles is a four inch ABS plastic handle, PVC Insulated coil cord and mini thermocouple connector. These units are designed such that the 3/16 inch shaft can be bent to most any angle, units are straight shaft from the factory
